Consultation began in November 2025 and was due to close on Sunday 22 February but has been extended by 3 weeks in response to the impact of recent bushfires.

We recognise the devastating impact the bushfires had on many communities and want to ensure people have the opportunity to have their say when the time is right.

Over the coming weeks, we will be rescheduling community webinars and events that were paused. You can find the latest schedule on our events and webinars page.

We are also available to engage with people and communities in ways that are most convenient for you.

You can request one-on-one and group meetings, briefings and calls.

To book:

We want to thank everyone who has made a submission so far and look forward to receiving more.

How to learn more and provide feedback

We are inviting feedback on 5 onshore renewable energy zones – Western, Central Highlands, Gippsland, North West and South West – as well as the Gippsland Shoreline zone.

More information on the formal consultation for the Central North zone will be provided later in 2026.

The zones will help deliver reliable and affordable power for all Victorians.

We are seeking any significant new information about sensitive areas, potential impacts or areas that are suitable for development that we may have missed in planning the zones.

To take part in the consultation:

Submissions close at 11.59 pm (AEDT) on Sunday 15 March 2026.
