We're standing here now at Edify Energy's Koorangie Energy Storage System just outside of a little town called Koorangie in northwest Victoria, and we've just connected to the grid.

The Koorangie Energy Storage System is a 185 megawatt battery that has a 370 megawatt hour battery capacity.

A battery energy storage system is really useful in this area because it can capture all the excess solar that is generated throughout this area and store it to time shift it for night time or when the peak generation is needed.

For the construction of this project, we've engaged with world class contractors. This is our third project that we've constructed in the area. This is our second big battery that we've done and we've also done some solar in the area as well.

Edify's been in the community in Kerrang for the last six years. Throughout that time the community has been supportive of us, welcomed us with open arms.

The council has been very supportive as well. It's been generally a really good community to work in.

It's exciting that we've hit commercial operation date on this BESS. A lot of planning, a lot of work and effort has gone into the execution of this. It's really good to say just putting green electrons back into the grid.
