VicGrid is developing the shared transmission needed to connect offshore wind energy generated off the Gippsland coast to the grid.

We acknowledge the prospect of new transmission infrastructure can be challenging and stressful for landholders and local communities.

Landholders and their immediate family members can access free and confidential counselling through Sale’s Inglis Medical Centre.

What support is available?

You can talk to qualified mental health and medical professionals in a safe and private setting about issues such as:

  • stress, anxiety or low mood
  • family pressures and relationship concerns
  • financial distress or impacts on your livelihood
  • trouble sleeping or coping with change
  • grief and loss
  • Increased use of alcohol or other substances
  • environmental stressors (like noise, dust or disruption)
  • construction impacts.

Who provides the service?

Sale’s Inglis Medical Centre is providing the support and is independent from VicGrid. Experienced professionals – including psychologists, GPs and mental health social workers – provide counselling either face-to-face (in Yarram, Sale or Loch Sport) or over the phone.

How many sessions can I get?

Eligible landholders and their immediate family members can access up to 6 free counselling sessions, fully subsidised by VicGrid.

Will VicGrid know who has accessed the service?

VicGrid will not know who has accessed the service.

VicGrid is subsidising this service and will only be given enough information to verify payment of invoices, such as the number of sessions completed over a given period.
