The Hon Lily D'Ambrosio MP, Minister for Climate Action, Minister for Energy and Resources, Government of Victoria
The Hon Lily D'Ambrosio: This project, is one of 12 projects that our Victorian Government has funded through a $480 million renewable energy zone fund to upgrade our electricity network so that we can actually have more renewable energy connected to our system.

The Hon Lily D'Ambrosio: It's 100 Tesla Megapacks and it'll give us a total of 185 megawatts of stored energy. A single charge of the battery system will be able to power all of the homes in the Gannawarra Shire for more than two weeks, and power all of Kerrang for a month.

John: The team at Edify Energy in collaboration or partnership with AEMO, said that actually we can use these very smart next generation power electronics, so it absorbs wind and solar when it's oversupplying the market and it dispatches it at the times the market needs it, which lowers prices for consumers. But it actually provides fundamentally important system strength services.

Alistair: Victoria's energy system is changing and projects like Koorangie are really important as we strengthen the grid to support renewables. And it's a really good example of the energy industry and government working together to make sure we modernise the grid.

The Hon Lily D'Ambrosio: It's about helping local communities here, but it's about helping grow more renewable energy projects right across Victoria that will deliver us 95% renewables by 2035, putting downward pressure on people's energy bills, reducing our emissions, keeping the lights on, and all the while we're creating really terrific jobs for local communities.
